As William enjoyed his breakfast while chatting with his sisters—Diane and Celestina—he heard voices and turned to the source, finding an open TV.

It took William a short while, but he finally reacted to what he had just heard.
“A female president?”
The last time he remembered, the president should have been Alden Front, but to think even that is different. And it’s a female president- though he can’t say it’s impossible, it’s rare.
“Is something wrong?” Celestina seemed to notice his surprise and asked.

William smiled and immediately reverted to his expression. He noticed that not only his mother but also his two sisters were looking at him weirdly, but he pretended he didn’t notice anything and focused on his breakfast while his ears were directed to the television.
I’d better start adapting to this world as soon as possible, or it’ll look weird.
“…right, where’s Catherine?”
Catherine was the last of his sisters. With Daniela being the oldest, next was Catherine, then William, Celestina, and lastly, Diane, the youngest.
He and Catherine were only a year apart, so they were quite close. Though he was not sure if they were still the same in this world. His memories are still blurry, though it’s already coming to him slowly.
“Catherine’s staying over in her friend’s house. She said they were doing school projects together. She’ll probably be back on Friday or Saturday…” Allison answered.

He continued with his breakfast while also paying attention to the news on the TV.

It seemed like every day, there was a new report of women attacking men, whether it be on the streets or in the workplace.

It was a reality that he had found himself thrust into.

William spent his morning solidifying his understanding of his new world by surfing on the net.
The more he learns, the more his interest increases.
This world doesn’t seem to be as simple as he thought it would be.
… mutants. Mutants war…and monsters?
Yes. Monsters do exist. Though it’s not as much as Monsters from the fantasy genre or aliens from outer space, but more like monsters born from experimentation.
Although biological experiments have been banned and deemed illegal for years, it’s not surprising to know that there are still a lot of people trying to do it. Especially the crazy ones.
In addition, there are still some monsters that have been hiding in the shadows of society- monsters born from past mistakes that managed to survive, hiding from the light of society. This includes Cross-Breeds- humans with implanted animal genes.
Mutants are those born with animal genetics—a perfect fit and blend of human and animal genes. However, in the past, they were humans who were genetically modified—some with their consent, while others were victims of evil people and organizations.
They are far worse than ordinary mutants since some lose their sanity completely and become animal-like, while some have terrible mutations. Of course, it’s not just about humans being victims, but also about animals. Some animals and beasts mutated as well. Though right now their numbers are few, they are still living and hiding, preying on humans.
So, yeah, although they are not uncommon- you can’t really see battles happening the moment you step out of the house, but it’s also not unheard of.
William even watched a viral video online about superhero-like women – they are the security teams fighting these monsters. And damn, they don’t move like normal humans at all. Some of them were tough, while some were able to lift cars and the like- though they were mostly mutant women with cybernetic limbs.
How strong mutants are, this video somehow proves it.
Though this world may look backward compared to the previous world- in some areas, this world seems to be way ahead. Technology is very advanced.
*Knock Knock Knock
“Who is it?”
Wondering who it was, William asked while walking toward the door.
“It’s me. Do you have some time?”
It was Celestina’s voice.
William opened the door and saw Celestina standing there awkwardly. But she was not alone.
Julia was hiding behind his little sister, a strange black eye on her left eye. She was looking at him anxiously and worriedly.
“Is something wrong?” William asked.
“… you see, we came to apologize,” Celestina said. “Well, mostly, her…” she nudged Julia with a frown.
Julia had a pale face.

Celestina, beside her, smacked her head. “Is that an apology?”

“Were you waiting?” William smirked.
Celestina frowned. “Well, yeah… I thought you’d come. You said you would,”
“I was occupied by something…” he said, a little surprised she was frank and nonchalant.
Julia looked at Celestina and then William, with a sheepish smile, immediately followed. She even closed the door as if she were afraid the two would ask her to leave the room.
William noticed her strange actions but decided to ignore her. He sat on the bed and patted the space beside him.
Celestina hesitated a little but eventually sat beside him.
If it were before, she would not dare sit on his bed, knowing William disliked her. But after that ordeal this morning, all the inhibitions between them seemed to have vanished. And she realized, for some odd reason, her brother had changed.
His disgust, his dislike of her, or all women in general, seemed to have disappeared.
The proof of that is how he can sit so close beside her or be so free and casual when she enters his room.

Before, she couldn’t even speak to him without being subjected to disgust or annoyance, much less enter his room. Right now, William seems to have become more free- more open-minded.
“Did you change your mind?”

There’s already a precedent. Saying it would not happen again is merely an act of lying or desperation. Especially when she knows she can never keep such a promise.
If that happens again, there’s no way she can stop herself from committing any crime at all.
William smirked in amusement.
He looked at Julia and said, “Well, did you enjoy that?”
“Eh? I… I don’t know what you’re talking about.”
“Don’t lie,” William grinned. “I know that even though Mutants lose themselves when they go berserk, they still have some recollections of what they did after they regained consciousness.”
Julia’s face turned red.
William got his answer, though she didn’t say anything. He then turns toward his sister, “I heard that Mutants have days in a month when they lose themself and attack anyone near- and when I say attacks, you know, sexually attacks…”
“Yes, that’s right,” Celestina replied while wondering why William was asking that. “Though, right now, that can be avoided by taking medications.”
“But I heard that medications are bad if they’re taken too much, or that they won’t completely solve the problem…”
Celestina let out a sigh, “Yes. But if you’re worried about that, there is no need to. I can take care of myself. I won’t do anything bad to you,”
So, unlike what he read on the internet, it seems like not all mutants succumb to their primal instinct during their mating period.
Yes. According to the Tiki, mutants have their mating period every month. Well, not mating period, see, but more like their desire spiked up due to their unstable animal genes. And since they always attack – sexually – their victims, it’s still called Mating Week.

And she was very happy that William didn’t seem so averse to becoming intimate with her.
