Chapter 302: Are You Threatening an Officer?!

Soon enough, several police cars pulled over as well and parked nearby the scene. A few cops got out of their vehicles and took out their guns, pointing them at Elle and the other men, who stood calmly before them, unfazed by the weapons aimed at them.

After all, the scene police officers saw was a bunch of dead bodies scattered about on the highway, lying on top of the wreckage and rubble from destroyed cars.

If it wasn’t for the helicopter that landed next to them and the heavily armed men who came out of it, they would have shot them already.

“HOLD IT! You there, put down your weapons NOW!” The police officer demanded with a raised voice as he kept his gun aimed directly at them. “This is a serious offense! We demand answers! You all should come with us to the police station and explain yourselves there!”

However, none of them did as instructed; instead, Elle walked forward with a calm demeanor, gun resting on her shoulder, and spoke without showing any fear of the officer.

“Officer, if you need answers, I can provide them to you. But I think you should lower your gun first because my men won’t hesitate to kill anyone who points a weapon at my boss. Especially after what just happened.”

“What nonsense are you saying!?” The policeman shouted back at her and asked, “Are you threatening an officer?! What do you think you’re doing!?”

Elle smirked and tilted her head sideways before saying, “Would you believe me if I told you that one single command from me will result in every single one of you being dead? Because that’s how it’ll turn out if you don’t back down right now. I promise that, at least.”

Upon hearing such an arrogant and confident response from the woman, the policeman grew furious. How dare she threaten him like that? Doesn’t she understand the consequences of what she was saying?

Before he could respond, though, several men behind Elle readied their rifles and aimed them at him and his fellow policemen. Seeing that, he felt the hairs on his neck rise up. It would seem he underestimated the situation just now.

One of the policemen next to him called out in a shaky voice. “Captain… we should listen to her… I mean, they’re ready to provide support and cooperate with us in handling the situation.”

“Shut up, fool!” The captain growled back at his subordinate, who flinched under his anger. But he understood what the younger man meant by his words. There was no point in picking a fight with someone who wasn’t going to play fair.

“Tch, you win,” Captain conceded and lowered his gun before giving Elle a stern look. “So, would you mind coming with us to the station and helping us understand what the hell happened here? Because I’ve got a bunch of dead bodies with me, and all I see is your chopper arriving on the scene with heavily armed men coming out of it.”

Elle nodded her head in response. “Yes, officer. We shall be happy to help in any way.”

Afterwards, several black cars drove to the scene, and men in suits climbed out of them before heading toward Oliver and his group.

Oliver recognized the leader of the group, who was accompanied by several men, as John, the top lawyer of the Ashford Global Enterprises. They greeted each other and boarded their vehicles before heading toward the police station.

While some of the police officers took charge of dealing with the aftermath of the incident, including securing the area, removing all the wreckage, and handling the dead bodies of the gang members.

Upon arriving at the station, they were led into an empty room with several chairs set up inside it. The policeman who was leading the way offered them to sit wherever they wanted, which Oliver took them up on.

“Mr. Oliver, you’ll be meeting the chief soon. I’ve informed them of the situation, so there won’t be any trouble from their side.” John told him and glanced at the other members of his group. “You don’t have to worry about anything. Just leave the rest to me.”

Upon hearing his reassurance, Oliver nodded his head. He was glad to know that everything was taken care of already by the competent lawyer and left him to deal with the situation.

Maya, who sat next to him, leaned in and held his hand tightly.

She was shaking from the experience earlier, and the scene was still vivid in her mind. If it weren’t for Oliver being so calm during the ordeal, she wouldn’t know what to do at all.

It was the same for all the other girls present. They were just normal people living a simple life when a sudden dangerous situation occurred around them. They were lucky to be rescued in time. Otherwise, who knows what would’ve happened?

Oliver, however, noticed their distress and tried comforting them. “Girls, please calm down. No one’s going to hurt you anymore. Everything is under control now.”

Everyone nodded their heads but stayed silent as they tried to recover from the shock of the earlier incident.

After some time of waiting quietly inside the room, the door opened up, and a balding man with a big gut came in. “Mr. John, the chief is ready to see Mr. Oliver. Please follow me.”

John got up from his seat and led Oliver out of the room as the officer opened the door for them.

The rest of the group stayed behind because only Oliver needed to explain what happened during the incident to the chief.
