Third-person, Ninja POV
Unlike girl, ninja was never featured in the game. As she was a minor character in the story, she would not be known by the protagonists.
“Is that everything, ninja?”
“Wait, why are you also calling me that, madam?”
“Think of it as punishment for your actions. You do remember that you were not assigned to do any of this? If you had only waited, we would have assigned a group to investigate.”
“I am sorry.”
“You have shared information with this woman you call mistress. Your duty is to acquire information, not spread it. What do you think happens now? Now that someone else knows about your existence?”
“I never shared anything! Well, I did say madam but she has no way of knowing who that is referring to!”
Madam puts her hand on her face and shakes her head.
“Did you not consider that she knows more than she lets on? There has to be a reason that she has not requested more information from you. Her very actions are suspicious. What did she plan to do? Why did she let you go? Why did she show you all of her actions? And why do you still call her mistress?”
“I don’t really know how to answer that.”
“Exactly. This is why I keep telling you to not go by yourself. I would not punish you for being captured, that is something that we cannot fully control but if you were in a group, that possibility would lessen and if you ever were captured, we would have had a chance to save you. But here, you were captured and we had no idea! Do you know how much time we lost because of your actions!? Instead of investigating properly, we had to create teams just to find you!”
It takes madam a while before she would calm down. Ninja stays silent as she listens to all of her complaints.
“Do not do this again. You only joined us and have not had a mission thus far. You will be punished for this and will not be assigned to any missions in the meantime. Do you understand?”
“Yes, madam.”
“Good. Now, are you sure your description of her is accurate?”
“Of course, madam.”
“I find it hard to believe that this mistress would not be hiding her identity in any way.”
“I did try checking for those but she didn’t hide anything. She was really, really, really confident.”
“You seem to have a high opinion of her.”
“No! She was just weird. In that last fight, I saw that she was severely injured but the way she looked at me just made me believe that she would be fine. I don’t really know how she lives like that but she does everything with full confidence. Even when her plans seem to not work out, she still maintains that creepy smile of hers.”
“You mention this creepy smile of hers a lot in your story. I find that hard to believe.”
“It was! I didn’t know how but when she smiles, its like her whole face scares me. It was very intimidating.”
Madam sighs.
“Your story is hard to believe but I will believe you. Did you look inside this notebook she gave you?”
Madam shows the notebook in her hands.
“No. When she gave me that, she said to bring it to madam and that I shouldn’t look at it since I won’t understand anyway.”
“And you believed her?”
“She can be very convincing. Like, scary convincing.”
Madam sighs again. She has already checked the contents of this notebook. It is a record of transections made by the supposed leader that she mentioned in the stories. But it has been tampered with as the other party has been conveniently been removed.
“We will need to investigate more on what happened.”
Madam thinks back to anyone who would fit this description. The description is unique and should be easy to find. Madam thinks of the prominent names around the globe but the description of this woman does not match with any of them. Does that mean this woman is an unknown? Impossible.
“Follow me.”
Madam brings ninja and looks through their records for anyone matching the description. Some of the more well-known identities have pictures included in their records while some would only have descriptions. Madam remembers all of the ones with pictures so she has already ruled out those people.
“How old do you think this mistress of yours is?”
“She’s probably pretty young. She should be near my age.”
“Have you considered recruiting her?”
“Huh? Why?”
“From your story alone, she already sounds more competent than you.”
“Hey!”
Madam shakes her head and continues her search. After a short time, she finds her.
“Athena Eterna.”
“Who?”
“That is your mistress. She is rumored to be evil, vicious, cunning, cruel and so much more. She only appeared in the public eye a few months back but her rumors have always been present. She matches your description.”
“Really? Is she really that bad?”
“Yes. We have heard that she has abused her power in school grounds. Stripped and expelled students and has used her authority to control the principal.”
“Her message is quite clear now.”
“Message? What message?”
Madam hands over the notebook to ninja.
“Open it and check the last page.”
Ninja looks at it and stares in shock.
“This is why she has let you go. She already knows and has presented this for us. Just by knowing of her name and involvement, we have already been pointed to a direction to follow.”
“Do you think I was followed?”
“No. We made sure of that. Besides, you of all people should know what she would do. Make sure to prepare yourself, prepare to meet your mistress again.”
In the notebook, a few words have been written. A sign of things to come and a sign of their future actions. Those words present a certainty of the future. A few simple words that most would not be worried by. It is easy to imagine, Athena Eterna sitting on her chair, legs crossed, looking down and showing her creepy smile as she says…
“I will be waiting for you.”
