We were now walking towards the office as we hear fighting everywhere.
“I don’t get it. What’s going on?”
“You are the best of your class and you do not understand?”
“Hey, I just got here. I don’t know anything about anything!”
“Just follow my lead.”
We arrive in front of his office. My hand shakes as I open the door.
“Who are y-“
I enter the room and leader looks surprised. He stands up and stops himself from moving forward.
“Milady, are you alright? I can hear people fighting. Have we been found?”
His acting is atrocious. I raise my shaking hand in front of him and stop him from going further.
“No need to embarrass yourself. It is quite obvious what is happening here.”
“Of course, milady. The master would be devastated to know that his daughter was killed when we were attacked by the authorities.”
“Quite a bold statement for you to say seeing as I am still here.”
“Seeing as you are one short, your companion is the one fighting outside? We can take care of her after this.”
“You seem confident. Did you not take into account that I would be more prepared as I am here speaking with you?”
“Most certainly, milady but I did expect this outcome. It is fortunate that you have come here with those two. I know that you would be arrogant enough to confront me so I made sure that I was prepared.”
Two large men enter the room making the already confined space, even smaller.
“Please surrender, milady. I would prefer to have your body in one piece.”
“Are these your strongest fighters?”
“Yes. Without your companion, all you have is a powerless girl and a manaless spy. Nothing too hard to handle.”
“For a plan made up on the fly, it is commendable but you cannot fool me. The moment I stepped in here already means that you have been cornered. Besides, did you really think I came here unprepared?”
In a quick flash, two heads roll and two bodies fall.
“No. Why is she free? Where is the device?”
“Now that we have that taken care of. Mind sharing the information you have?”
“Miss spy, why are you cooperating with her? Why not kill her and escape?”
“I ain’t a fan of her that much is true but I hate your kind even more. So, just get it over with.”
“Of course. Of course.”
Leader turns his back and suddenly throws something towards me. Ninja blocks that attack.
“It seems I have no choice.”
“Shit!”
An explosion suddenly occurs and hits me as I get dragged by collar.
“Fuck, I noticed it too late. Both of you go hide. This guys stronger that I thought.”
Ninja runs back towards him as I try to stand up but my body fails me. Luckily, my bodysuit saved me but I still suffered burns to my face and hands. I look towards girl and see she is in a worse state than me.
“Wait. Why are you hurt?”
Her clothes have been burned and she has severe burns throughout her body. How did that happen? My situation is not as dire as hers.
“Did you cover me?”
“Sorry, mistress. I didn’t know what else to do.”
I look around and we are in a hallway. I remember where this is but the rooms are quite near. No problem for walking but she currently cannot move properly. Carrying her would make us significantly slower for my speed.
“Don’t worry. I heal fast so just give me some time.”
“What are you saying? We have to hide.”
I try to stand but my legs fail me. I suffered much less damage than hers but I am unable to stand. Curse this weak body of mine.
“Sorry!”
Ninja flies over us as she is thrown. I see leader walking towards us.
“Did you truly think I was weak? I am actually the strongest here. Too bad I spoiled your grandstanding, huh?”
Leader walks towards us. I watch him in silence. I look around and see what else I can do.
“N-no.”
Girl tries to block leader and he kicks her away.
“No!”
I try to stand up but my legs fail me again. Leader grabs me by the hair and pulls it up.
“Nothing else to say, milady? Have you given up perhaps?”
“T-this is your last chance. Tell me everything and I might spare you.”
“HAHAHAHA! Even in this situation, you act as if you are in control. You are truly your father’s daughter.”
He pulls my hair even harder as my knees are now suspended in the air.
“I do apologize to the master. I did not desire for him to lose his daughter but circumstances have forced my hand.”
“No need to hide it. This has been your plan from the very start. Argh!”
A punch to my gut.
“You just don’t know when to shut up.”
Two more punches and my body feel like it’s on fire.
“You’re unlucky you are attractive. If only you can remove that attitude of yours.”
Another punch to my stomach. I cannot even reply to anything he says.
“Don’t worry. I can grant you on request. Don’t think of me as ungrateful. What kind of buyer do you want? A fat pig? A sadist? Or maybe you want someone who would love you?”
Another punch as he laughs.
“Well? Come on. Pick one of them.”
He pulls up my hair even more and puts his ear near my face.
“C-can you h-hear it?”
The sounds of fighting have stopped for a while now. That only means one thing. As leader looks towards me with confusion, he is attacked and thrown off to the side and someone catches me.
“You’re late.”
“Sorry.”
“Ah, you even broke my no speaking rule.”
I cough blood as Sylvia lays me by the wall. My face suffered burns, my body has been badly bruised from his attacks and my legs are shaking.
“Hah. I told all of them to make sure to keep you busy but it seems you are stronger than I thought. No matter. Some things you just have to do yourself.”
Ninja is nowhere to be seen. Girl is unconscious on the floor and the hallway has been destroyed. It seems leader has fire magic and has created a wide space with it.
“Do not hold back.”
I force myself to stay awake as Sylvia fights against leader.
