Chapter 98: Playing a Knight

“I don’t want this!” Elana complained. “Why? Why couldn’t it be something else?” She lamented her fate. “Why did a Goddess of love have to be the one who supports us?”

Moira joined Elana. “This bitch. All that fluttering in my stomach actually caused me to become stronger. Let me enjoy the moment, dammit!” She shook her fist at the sky.”

“We should desecrate a holy place.” Elana plotted.

“Several.”

“With a lot of blood.”

“Preferably that of our enemies.” Moira paused. “I guess any blood will do.” She nodded.

“Um…” A voice tried to interfere.

“Not just holy places,” Elana fantasised. “We should ban all depictions of that bitch.”

“We will be Queens soon.” Moira liked the idea. “We could make that a law.”

“W-wait-” The voice tried again.

“And kill anyone who breaks it.” Elana felt like kissing Moira again.

“That’s where we could get the blood,” Moira pointed out.

“Indeed. Smart. No wonder I chose you as my fated one.” Elana gave in to her urges and kissed the tip of Moira’s nose.

“Chose? I chose you!” Moira returned the sentiment.

“That’s not how it happened!” Elana felt like stripping her woman.

“PLEASE WAIT!” Romoly finally couldn’t hold back. “Please don’t destroy our faith! Aren’t you the Goddess’s Saintess? Aren’t you the Saintess’s Knight?” He couldn’t understand.

Truthfully, Elana had simply forgotten about the bishop chained near their legs. She glanced at the man but chose not to comment.

Moira, on the other hand, put on a gentle smile. “Of course not, Mr Fewio.” Her expression seemed genuine. “We are just joking around.”

While her woman was appeasing Romoly, Elana returned her attention to the ongoing battle. It was still brutal in its simplicity. The Golem seemed to be content in trading body blows with the smaller opponent.

Elana checked her condition, feeling her mana once again full and her body healed. She repaired the cracks in her armour and reinforced her sword. The crown on her head grew spikier, as did the rest of her icy garb.

“I can’t hug you like that,” Moira had finished talking to the bound holy man. “It does look dashing, though.” She hummed before her expression turned to one of worry. “You want to go and join the fight?”

“The two of them do seem happy enough to keep killing each other, but…” Elana didn’t finish. Moira probably noticed it, too.

The Golem was losing. Its body slowly lost its glow. Its heavy blows failed to hold back Ashton, who started to push forward.

Elana really wanted to know what the man’s body was made from. She recalled the Prince’s joke about him running away from a hundred opponents.

“A joke…” Elana muttered. “It was indeed a joke for him.”

“What is it?” Moira tried to approach but stayed back once she was bitten by the cold. “…Do you need help?”

“What? You think your holy ass will be any worth in a fight?” Elana snorted. “You have a pretty face. It would be a pity if it got caved in. Without that, you would only have breasts.”

“On the other hand, go get your ass kicked,” Moira gave Elana a finger. “Just don’t get yourself killed.” She added quietly. “I can’t fix that.”

“I won’t.” Elana gathered her courage and stepped past the Idiot, who was still cheering for the Golem.

“Huh, Elana?” The Princess had been lost in her own world. “What are you doing?” She tried to understand, but it was clear she gave up halfway.

“Being a knight, I guess…” She muttered to herself, still unhappy about the circumstances. Elana circled behind Ashton. “Why did it have to be the power of love?” Her soul felt like it was being tormented.

Elana looked back at Moira. Her woman happened to be sending a worried glance her way, and it made her happy. Sickeningly so. “Shit.”

The whole world seemed to be brighter. Despite suffering, Elana had to admit part of her was very happy about the additional confirmation the Goddess had given.

Holding back a roar of anger, Elana channelled the mess that was her emotions into something productive – like the thoughts of decapitating Ashton and burring him with her dad’s dick in his ass.

It did help. Even if Moira kept creeping back into her mind. The time spent apart and the affirmation… Elana made a note to keep Moira close so that this didn’t happen again.

“Yes, yes, I hear you,” Elana kept muttering, fearing she was going insane. Mary’s frustrated screams masked the sound of her steps. She took a deep breath, keeping the cold contained nearby. It was another method to mask her movements.

The Magical Construct noticed Elana and began pounding harder, making sure Ashton was busy. It was now losing quite badly, parts of the Golem’s facade peeling off, revealing nothing but light under.

“Keep pounding, big boy,” Elana took another deep breath. She made sure her girls were fine before engaging.

Mary was still screaming. And when she was breathing in, she seemed to be uttering unspoken horror aimed at Moira.

Cinthia was using her body to shield Catarina from… Mary. She was dutiful and deserved a reward after this was over.

Catarina was… Sniffing Cinthia’s back. The bodyguard had gotten sweaty during the scuffle. Which the smaller girl seemed to enjoy.

“Didn’t you say you didn’t care about anyone else but Moira and me?” Elana wanted to flick the girl’s forehead. “Then again, you are a pervert.  Now…”

Everything was ready. Elana gathered mana and formed countless icicles aimed at Ashton’s back. She made sure her armour and weapons were as strong as they could be and prepared to lower the temperature as low as she could.

Elana looked at Moira, who held her hands clutched above her heart.

It was a cute picture. “You better burn this sight in your mind, you bitch…” Elana jumped forward. “I am playing your knight just this once!”

Upon Elana’s order, Ashton was swallowed by a whirlwind of ice.

Ahahahahahhaahahahaha my car broke again. It’s so fucking expensive to fix it all the time. I am so broke.

Don’t mind me. I am just lamenting my fate.

Anyway. Have fun! Cheers,

Broke Enkiari
