Monday night.
“$480.” Jon said, as he checked his account. That wasn’t much. But at least he didn’t have to pay rent.
“Everything you found so far doesn’t sound too offensive.” Lena frowned as she helped Jon go through the documents. It wasn’t even hard to keep some of the documents for himself, but there were quite a bit of documents that he needed help. The housewife seemed more than happy to help. “All just regular transfers and stuff. All seemed business-linked.”
“I probably should sneak into Mister Pool’s house and see whether I can get anything.”
“That sounds dangerous. Someone with Mister Pool’s level of wealth surely has security cameras and all that.”
“True.” Jon nodded. Even if he could get in, he didn’t know what he was looking for. After thinking for a while, he decided to just give Mister Khan a call.
“Mister Khan, can we meet tomorrow?” Mister Khan took a while to pick up the phone, but when he did, he got to it immediately.
“Oh? You have it, already?”
“I believe so, I would like to show it to you to see is it exactly what you want.”
“Alright, then. I’ll send you a place to meet.”

Jon arrived at the lobby of the Mister Khan’s family office. It was a fairly posh office, with marble furnishings at the lobby, and a beautiful receptionist at the front. The way she smiled was seductive, and Jon thanked his lucky stars that he already had experience. The old him would’ve fallen for her.
“Ah. You have an appointment with Mister Khan at 9am. Please go to Curry Puff Room.” Jon noticed the office picked up on the MNC habit of naming meeting rooms after local foods and delicacies. Jon was slightly early and properly dressed in office clothes.
“Jon.” Mister Khan walked into the room and sat down at the chairman’s seat. “Show me what you’ve got, and I’ll arrange the payment if it’s what I’m looking for.”
Jon felt the oppressive aura of someone who was an elite. Mister Khan was powerful, and his business aura leaked out strongly. That aura was strongest here, in his office. Jon wondered whether what he felt was intimidation. He took a deep breath, and tapped into his NTR system.
He had to resist it, then he smiled. “Yes, Mister Khan. Thanks for having me.”

“Here’s what I managed to collect.”
Mister Khan had a file of his own, and then immediately compared the two. He frowned.
“This isn’t what Henry submitted to me and the team. The one he submitted to me showed much higher sales, and much higher cash balance.”
He flipped and flipped through the summarized financial records and spotted even more discrepancies. His face, which was happy in the morning, turned pale and horrified, then angry.
“That bastard.” He cursed. “Just to be sure. Tell me where you got this?”
“I extracted it from the accounting software. This is the raw system generated report.” Jon answered.
“This is good. But it’s not enough if we want to pin it to Henry. We’ll need full database access. Are you able to install a bug into the software? So that we can access it directly?” Mister Khan asked.
“If you provide the bug, I can.” Jon answered. He wasn’t going to say he knew how to install remote bugs. Besides, it was good to see how other professionals handled such challenges. “With adequate compensation, of course.”
Mister Khan then texted someone on the phone, and then just as quickly, he looked back at Jon. “I’ll sort that out. One of my software guys will contact you. He’ll give you a device to plug into the computer, and he’ll handle the rest. But you do need to coordinate it with him. I’ll pay you another $10,000 for this. Other than that- I want a copy of Henry’s computer. Can you clone his hard disk? Any wrongdoing or tampering will be on his computer.”
Cloning hard disk was fairly easy, but it did require 2-3 hours and a spare hard disk. “How much are you paying? This is harder than what is normally expected, since Henry should have his laptop fairly close to him.”
“Fine. $25,000. So for both tasks, $35,000. We’ve wasted $4million on this Henry, and if I’m not kicking him out, this Company’s done for, and that’s not happening on my watch. I’ll send you that $10,000 now. Give me your banking details.”
Jon wrote it down, and immediately felt his phone beep. He stared at it, amazed at the amount of money in his account. “Thanks. Pleasure doing business with you, Mister Khan.”
“Not for me. It sucks that I have to do this.” Mister Khan said. “Now, we’ll need to see if this company can still be saved.”
“You don’t plan to just let it die?”
“Despite what is often said of us venture capitalists, I do not like my portfolio companies to collapse, and I am quite familiar with Poolman’s industrial products. They have good products, but it seems their head is a rotten apple.”
Jon merely nodded. “I’ll try my best, Mister Khan.”
