“Are you feeling better now?” Oga asked her after they exited the cafe and she was still looking down at the ground looking kind of nervous.
At first, she was a little startled by his question but just slightly nodded her head while still looking at the ground.
“If you say so.” He decided to leave her alone for now so she could organise her mind and then decided to check his phone to see various missed calls and messages.
Realising most of them were from either his mom or Shion, he couldn’t help but let out a sigh in annoyance at how he used to treat them previously.
‘There’s a lot of things I need to deal with man.’ Realising Chifuyu is just a start, he almost feels like running away and avoiding all these problems.
But there was one problem for him and that was money which he needed to survive in this world he was unfamiliar with.
‘And it will eat in the back of my mind.’ Looking at Chifuyu who was trying to calm her nerves by breathing deeply, he knew if ran, his mind would always be filled with thoughts of her and others as even though it wasn’t him who did that, he still had all the memories so it almost felt like it was all him doing that.
‘Well let’s try to resolve it at my own pace.’ Just as he decided that he heard a door opening behind them to see the waitress holding the crepe in her hands.
Little surprised by her sudden arrival, both of them looked towards her with wide eyes, while she handed them the crepe with a smile.
“Enjoy your meal.” She bowed and then started walking back towards the shop when she suddenly turned around, “Ahh also you can pick your pastries from the counter while paying the bill there.”
Looking at her departure, he couldn’t help but laugh at her energy as he observed the crepe in his hands which looked pretty delicious.
“Hmm~” Suddenly he heard a strange sound and looking towards the source next to him, he could see Chifuyu looking at the crepe with excited eyes.
He decided to just observe her as she slowly removed her mask and took the first bite of crepe, and just after that bite she put one hand on her cheek while slowly savouring the taste of the crepe.
“Seems like it was a good choice getting that.” He couldn’t help but laugh a little at her reaction which surprised her a bit as she turned around immediately while her ears were all red.
“Ahh my bad, I will not disturb you for now.” Realising his remarks make her embarrassed, he decided to leave her for now even though he kind of finds her reaction pretty fun to see.
“Thanks…” She said with a small voice while she slowly turned around and with a little blush and smile on her face said, “And it’s delicious.”
“Ugh.” He couldn’t help but let out an audible groan as her smile was too cute for him which made his face a little bit hot.
“You are okay?” She asked with a concerned look as her smile slowly faded away which calmed him down a bit, while he just nodded his head with a smile to reassure her while still feeling a little bit hot.
Nodding while still feeling a bit suspicious about his behaviour, she decided to finish the crepe first.
Relieved that she didn’t pursue further, he also decided to bite into the crepe and the first bite made him realise why she made such a reaction.
“Pretty good isn’t it?” She asked while stuffing her mouth with the crepe like a hamster and he couldn’t help but let out a laugh at her antics.
“Yeah, but eat slowly as it ain’t going anywhere.” He said she was eating too fast which made him a bit worried.
“But it’s too good.” She grumbled lightly while looking at him with teary eyes, which made him a bit surprised due to her several new but cute reactions.
“That’s true.” He couldn’t deny that as the crepe was much better than he expected but decided to propose an idea, “We can always come to this cafe again?”
“Oh yeah let’s do that.” She shouted with an excited expression while eating the crepe a bit slowly this time but suddenly realised what she promised to do.
He couldn’t help but laugh at her reaction as she slowly got teary-eyed again while looking at him with a confrontational gaze.
“Looks like we have a promise, don’t we?”
“You that was not…” She mumbled as she didn’t know how to refute him.
“Not what?” He asked her with a curious gaze while she stuttered trying to find her words which he couldn’t help but find cute.
“That was not me at that time so it doesn’t count.” She said with an anxious face as even she knew that excuse was not good at all.
“What do you mean? Isn’t that Chifuyu that just promised that we would come here again?” He asked her while slowly walking towards her as she was backed against the wall with his face right next to her due to you bending to face her.
“That- you-” Feeling his face right next to him, she couldn’t help but feel the temperature rising inside her body while her heart was beating faster as she closed her eyes in fear.
“My bad but your reactions were too cute not to do this.” Suddenly she felt a warm hand patting her head while saying something which made her angry while also making her heart beat even stronger.
“I hate you.” She swatted away his hands as she turned around to calm her heart while he looked at her with a bit of guilty gaze.
‘I shouldn’t be enjoying this.’ He didn’t know why he was doing that as it had never happened to him before, but seeing her reaction to his action awakened something strange inside him.
“We can come here again.” Suddenly he heard a small voice and looking towards it, he could see her looking at him with a complicated gaze, “But still I hate you.”
She turned away from him once again as she focused on completing the crepe while trying not to face him as her heart was still acting weird while facing him.
He felt a bit better after her response as he could feel the atmosphere between them was much better than before.
“Aye and I am sure it will be fun.” He said with a smile while also enjoying the crepe but both of them didn’t notice that another person was watching them from afar.
