Chapter 134

“No.”

“Why?”

“Is that really your question? My refusal should be expected. I have no such reason to join your organization.”

“Joining us would allow you to have some power over the students. You will also be able to enact some rules yourself.”

“Do not kid yourself. Any new rules will have to receive approval. Except for a few notable exceptions, most students would dare not defy me. This power of yours is weaker than the power I currently have. Lest you forget that I have Emilia on my side. Any of these power, privileges or perks you may mention have less value than even one of these things. Your offer does not provide any significant benefits.”

“Woah. You really had a lot to say.”

“There is one item that may interest me in accepting.”

“Really? What is it?”

“You make me the president.”

“Presidency requires a vote from the student body. If you want, we can set-up an election.”

“No. I will not win. All I need to do is to tell Emilia to change those rules and I can be president.”

“Wow. Go ahead then.”

“Good. Our talk is now over. I shall be leaving now.”

I try to stand up but it feels like a weight is on top of me. I look up and I see her beside me stopping me from standing using her hand.

“Are you sure you want to do this? I ask that you reconsider.”

“Your request seems to have force involved. Is that the proper way to make a request?”

“No no. All I am doing is holding your shoulder and asking you nicely.”

“It hurts.”

“My bad. The prince will have my head if I rough you up.”

My shoulder aches as I move it. If she applied a little bit more force, she would have broken it. How unfortunate that Sylvia is not present against her.’

“Are you done with all of these unimportant topics? I will humor you and allow you to share what you truly want.”

“What are you talking about? That was it. I really wanted to invite you in the student council.”

“What?”

She smiles at me as I look surprised.

“You must be joking. Our only meeting before this was that threat and then you suddenly want me to join your student council? Outrageous!”

“Oh, yeah. That did happen. Don’t worry. I don’t feel like killing you anymore.”

“As you should, I clearly remember what happened back then.”

“I will kill you, was it? Ah, I was young back then.”

“A girl I have never met before suddenly raises her weapon and points it to my face and says that. Why would I ever be calm with you?”

“I’m sorry, okay? I was irritated at the time.”

“It was a joke?”

“Oh, no. I was fully serious. I planned to kill you quick but the prince stopped me.”

“Unbelievable.”

“I know, right? Why would the king suddenly tell me to protect the prince? Outrageous! Then, I also have to protect you? Ugh. Too boring.”

“That threat was stuck in my mind for years and it was all because of this!?”

Ugh. I am so angry. I can feel myself boiling inside.

“Calm down. I told you, I ain’t killing you for the time being.”

“The time being? You should never kill me.”

“Ah. That I cannot promise. What if you were a bad guy? I would have to kill you then.”

Her words stop me. Calm down. She knows nothing.

“Me? Unbelievable.”

“Hey, you’re not the shining beacon of hope you think you are. I already know about all of these rumors about you but I decided to ignore them. But word still goes around, you know? I hear a lot of things.”

“Mild offenses. Nothing that would amount to death.”

“There should be one. I heard you made a few students leave.”

“That was their fault. They decided to mess with me and they found out the consequences.”

“What about during the tournament?”

“Using everything to one’s disposal is normal in a fight. Surely, you of all people would accept that method.”

“To the death, sure but that wasn’t even remotely close to being dangerous.”

“Then, treat it as a lesson to them that life is not always fair.”

“Wow. You have an answer for everything.”

“This conversation is going nowhere. If that is all, I shall be leaving.”

“Wait a minute. If you join the student council, I can get rid of a problem you will have.”

“A problem?”

“Me.”

“What?”

“I don’t give up easily, you know. If you refuse me now, I may try to convince you again. If you don’t want me doing that, just join.”

“That is preposterous. Either way, I lose.”

“Duh.”

“I will take my chances.”

I stay on my seat and wait.

“You’re not going to leave?”

“You brought me on this chair here. Now, put me back.”

“Wow. After all of that, you want me to carry you back?”

“Of course. You brought me here against my will. Take responsibility and return me to where I was and I want it to be exactly on the same place.”

“Sheesh, take responsibility. You’re speaking like we’re getting married or something.”

“Stop wasting time and do as you’re told.”

“When did you become a princess?”

“I am not the princess. I am the duke’s daughter.”

“Aren’t you the prince’s fiancée? You’ll be the princess in the future.”

“Since our marriage has not happened yet. I am not a princess.”

“Fine. Why are you being stubborn?”

Even with her complaints, she carries the chair and goes towards the classroom.

“Do not fool yourself. If anyone should be deemed stubborn, it will be you.”

“Everybody knows that. So, you thinking of accepting?”

“No.”

“Damn. I thought I could get you.”

We eventually return and she places the chair exactly where she took it from. Melanie and Blanche have been following us silently ever since.

“There you go, duke’s daughter.”

“Go away.”

I waive my hand but she catches it. She suddenly kneels down and kisses it.

“See you later!”

She runs away leaving all of us stunned.

“That harlot! Melanie, Blanche, follow me! We must wash this filth from my hands!”

The three of us proceed to go to the bathroom. This month was supposed to be a quiet one while I wait for Sylvia. It seems like I will have to deal with her somehow.

“How annoying.”
