Chapter 132

Lucina killing me is not surprising. It is my ultimate fate as the antagonist. There is no route where I am not killed by them. So, it is not surprising that such a thing would happen. The real concern is that it happened too early. While the female protagonist has experience in killing people, she does not do so to any named character in the beginning. The only named character that she kills first is me. She only does so after revealing everything I have done and she has significant influence with the crown.

“Why is she going to kill me?”

Juliet hesitates as she keeps looking back towards Lyn. Laws still govern this place in their own way. It is entirely decided by the royal family. There is no corruption with the royal family itself so it has not been abused. There is only one reason. She has found out the truth but that also brings up another reason. Why has she not done anything? It would be safe to assume that she would confront me.

“It’s complicated. I went with her back to her hometown and she just found about some things. I can’t tell you about it though. I promised!”

What? She went back to her hometown? This early? At this point of the game, the female protagonist would be busy acclimating to her new life. She should only return to her place of origin during the new year and she would only do so alone. No matter how many characters you have romanced, there is no option to bring anyone else in that journey. As before, everything I know is now becoming useless. Change is happening in places I do not have control.

“But you don’t need to worry, miss Athena! I will make sure to bring her to her senses then you can talk to her about it. Please?”

Juliet looks towards me. I stare back at her. So what? Things have changed? I do not have control? My knowledge is useless? None of those things matter. My life has always been a tool in someone else’s game. That is how it was and how it will be. None of this changes anything. I will continue to walk on this path I am on and whatever results it brings, I will accept it. If I do not like it, I will change it. If I do not want it, I will reject it. That is how Athena Eterna lives.

“You have my permission. As a favor to you, I will not engage in any activities with her in the foreseeable future but do not make a mistake. I am only allowing this since you have asked if you take too long, I will take action in my own accord. Is that understood?”

“Yes! Thank you, miss Athena!”

Juliet runs off chasing Lyn. I will let her be for now. The sensation on my neck and these weird feelings supports this decision. Whatever event has happened has dealt a significant blow to myself. Such things have not appeared in all of the months I have spent here.

“Are you sure about this, miss Athena?”

“Yeah. I’m actually confused. Why would she try to kill you?”

“No need to trouble yourselves. This is something they will have to do by themselves. In the end, it will change nothing.”

“I understand. I shall abide by your will.”

“Okay. Got it!”

“May I ask a question, miss Athena?”

“Go ahead.”

“You mentioned to miss Juliet that you are accepting her advise as a favor to her. What did you mean by that?”

“Think of it as a payment of sorts. Your have serviced me and so I, in my magnanimity will allow you to have favors. Of course, this varies from person to person. Melanie is the opposite. I have granted her the favor before she is brought under my service.”

“Oh. That is true. I completely forgot.”

“Do not forget such things. Whether equal or not, such things should be considered. If one only continues to give, then it is not a fair exchange.”

“I’ll remember that for the future.”

Hmm? When did I start thinking this way?

“In that case, may I request for a favor?”

“You may. My acceptance will depend on what it is. I will not do anything I do not want to do.”

“Of course, miss Athena. All I would ask is to please meet up with me later in the day.”

“That is something we normally do.”

“I would like for this meeting to be between you and I. In our classroom after classes have ended.”

“Oh? I would ask for more details but you would want to give me a surprise instead. Am I correct with this line of thinking?”

“Yes.”

“Granted. Melanie, wait for us to finish after class.”

“No problem!”

“Let us go to school.”

My condition feels lighter. The pain in my neck and the horrible feeling I had has disappeared. I find myself smiling as I walk towards the class. Unexpected events should be worrisome. So, why do I feel excitement instead? The path to the unknown is now before me. These events are proof that my actions can change the story. This simple thing is proof that my goal can be met.

“Miss Athena Eterna.”

Outside of the classroom, a male student that I do not know calls out to me. Their face does not coincide with any named character in the game. I stop near them but do not reply.

“What is your business with miss Athena?”

“I apologize for the this but I have been instructed to ask for you.”

“Is it not normal for those who wish to meet with her to show themselves.”

“Yes. I understand. I am only sending a message.”

“Do not delay. Say it.”

“The student council president would like to speak with you.”

Student council president. There is only one person who this term is referring to. Someone who I never wish to meet. We were never supposed to cross paths. Declining this request will not be to my benefit. That girl is annoying but I do not want to simply comply. So, I will stall with a simple question.

“Why?”
