The past few days are weird. Head maid seems to have changed. How she looks at me has changed. Her actions itself have changed and she has been very receptive to everything I have done. I have also felt a weird feeling around Sylvia. I do not really understand but the actions she has seen may have been the cause for these changes. Either way, nothing has truly changed for me. Head maid seems to be surrendering herself to me but that is no fun. I need to make her suffer for fun. Something to consider in the future.
“Mistress.”
We are now back to the personal dorm. It is a day before our classes start again. Both of us have recovered properly. I recovered faster than before as head maid focused on making sure that my condition would be better. Something brought about her change.
“What is it?”
Sylvia turned silent. She must have a request for me.
“Is it possible to meet with my family?”
What?
“What did you say?”
“I would like to meet my mother and sister.”
Why is this happening now? Her request should happen a few months from now. Is this because I brought her to this mission? What do I do?
“Why?”
“Please.”
No explanation. Hmm, what should I do? The events of this month are of no importance. I had already planned on not doing anything significant. The events for this month should have no relevance to the me right now but it is still a risk.
“Explain.”
“I miss them.”
Sylvia is being very evasive but this is normal. What should I do? I keep considering the possibilities. Denying her now may change the events in the future but allowing her will also change it for certain. Do I take a change for a possibility or do I take a risk? This question is useless as I already know my answer. I smile towards Sylvia and I see her shake.
“No.”
Sylvia lowers her head as I answer her.
“I understand.”
Sylvia turns back and starts walking.
“You will not be able to meet them anyway.”
My words stop her and she turns back to me.
“What do you mean, mistress?”
“You are old enough. I have gotten rid of the loose ends.”
“Where are they?”
“As I said, I have gotten rid of them.”
I stare at Sylvia. I see her eyes move in panic. What will you do?
“But you promised.”
“I did but father has decided.”
Her eyes shake. There is a surprising lack of anger in her eyes. A brief aura of darkness appeared but I do not understand what that is. Sylvia goes near me and stares at me.
“Where are they?”
“I have no reason to tell you.”
I smile at her and approach her. I stare at her eyes. Come on, what will you do about it?
“I understand.”
Sylvia turns her back to me and stands in place. I return to my bed and lay down.
“How boring. You are fired.”
“M-mistress? W-what do you mean?”
“I said you are fired. I have no use for you as you are now. Leave and fix yourself. Return once you have fixed yourself.”
“I do not understand, mistress.”
“Are you defying me?”
Sylvia looks torn. Following my orders means leaving but defying them is also something she does not want to do. Which would you choose? I have betrayed you after all. What will you do?
“Mistress, I…”
Her hesitance bores me.
“Leave. When you return, you can be of use to me again.”
I turn my back to her. After a long amount of time, Sylvia leaves. I wait for a lot longer and leaves my room. Blanche and Melanie are standing outside of my room.
“We saw Sylvia leave, where is she going Miss Athena?”
“I have sent her away. You will be my maid for now, Melanie.”
“Me!? Are you sure, miss Athena?”
“Are you refusing?”
“No no no. I just thought Blanche would be the one.”
“Again, are you refusing?
“No! I would be happy to!”
“Good. We have class tomorrow. Make sure to be prepared.”
It is now the next day and the first day of classes after the break. The three of us are walking towards the school and I see a familiar set of red hair. I excitedly approach and dump water on her head.
“It seems you are the same as you are before.”
Lyn stops moving and does not move. I see her shoulders shaking and it seems she is saying something.
“Speak louder if you want to be heard, peasant.”
“Leave me alone.”
She says loud enough for me to hear.
“Why should I listen to someone like you? I decide what I want to do.”
It annoys me that she still has not turned towards me so I drop dust on her head this time. Combined with the water, creates a sticky substance on her head.
“Again. Leave me alone.”
I see her body shake even more as I refuse. She suddenly turns to me and she looks in my eyes with tears flowing down.
“Tears? Do you think tears will affect me?”
“Please.”
A desperate cry from nowhere. Seeing her cry brings a smile to my face and I raise my arm.
“ARGH!”
My words stop as a peculiar scene happens. For some reason, I am looking at the sky. I do not understand why my point of view has suddenly changed. My vision spins until I feel myself fall to the ground. Wait, the ground? Why am I on the ground?
“W-“
I try to speak but only sounds come out. I finally see Lyn in a distance with someone in front of her. A headless body is standing there. Huh? Is that me?
“AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!”
A loud cry emits from Lyn as she hugs my body. Everyone is stunned in silence as she falls down with it. Flames surround them as I see both burning before I lose all vision. Ah. Is this how it ends?
