After the sex was over, the two of them just laid in bed and cuddled when Frank asked her,How long have you been doing this?” Johann was still in a bad mood, which she didn’t want to show. She kindly responded,Well, you are my first customer, so not long.” Frank was surprised positively, so he just remained silent, and they went back to cuddling. After a while, Frank jolted up and realised that he has a very important meeting today and needs to leave immediately. He quickly dressed up again, and Johanna chuckled at him after he was done and about to leave. Johanna told him that he can come by anytime he wants and that she will only be reserved for him.
Frank turned around and said, Thanks, I will come by tomorrow again.” He left, running down the hallway and up the stairs. Johanna followed him soon, dressed back up again, and went over to the receptionist, where she asked in which room she could sleep. The dwarf responds,The rooms in the basement are for sex with clients, while on the first floor, the woman can sleep and take care of f herself.” Johanna nodded understandingly and went up to the sleeping rooms. For the woman, there were numbers on each room door and an occupied shield hanging on the doors of the occupied room. Johanna took a free room and turned around the shield to occupy it. She entered the quite spacious room, which even had a bathroom in a separate room. She first laid herself on the not-so-comfortable bed and took a few deep breaths. “This certainly isn’t the situation I wanted to find myself in, but I guess it’s fine for now.” Those thoughts went through her head, and after resting for a while, she stood back up and had another idea on how to earn money. She departed from the brothel and walked on the main road, where she saw a board with a city map on it while she took Frank to the brothel.
She looked at the map and spotted the adventure guild, where she wanted to sell information about monsters from her encyclopedia. These details have to be very expensive and important since this book was given to her by God himself. Once she arrived there, she went in through the main entrance and took a look around. The floor was separated into two levels. On the lower level, there were tables to eat and a bar where the adventurers got drunk, while on the upper level, there were two female receptionists who were chatting with each other since there were no adventurers needing help. Johanna approached the receptionists, and the two of them looked over at her and stopped chatting to look more serious. As Johanna reached the reception, the receptionist asked her,How can I help you?” Johanna put the Encyclopaedia on the table and told them,I come from a monster researching family and am one myself. This book here is the work my family has been doing over the past decades, and we think that it is finally completed.” The receptionists looked at her and asked Johanna, “By finished, do you mean every single monster on this whole continent?” Johanna shook her head and answered,No, not from this continent, from the whole world.” The receptionists looked at each other and asked if they could take a look at it, and Johanna nodded. The receptionists flipped through the pages and took closer looks at others, and after a few minutes of analysing the book, one of them spoke again:Well, it does seem valid. Let me get the guild master.”
After waiting for a while, she returned and asked Johanna to come with her to meet the guild master. They went up to the third floor, and the receptionist knocked at the door that looked very magnificent. An old voice responded,Come in.” The two of them entered the room, and Johanna took a closer look at the old, bald, and weak-looking man who was the guild master. He was wearing old white and plain clothes, and if Johanna didn’t know better, he could be just a normal old man.
The guild master then ordered the receptionist to leave the room again so that he and Johanna could talk alone. Once the receptionist left and Johanna sat down on the chair on the opposite side of his desk, the old man spoke again:” I am WU, the guild master of this city, and I’m happy to meet you.” Johanna introduced herself as a monster researcher again and showed him the book. WU took a closer look at the book, and Johanna had to wait again, but unlike the receptionist, Wu just flipped through the pages and then said:
“I have a few questions; do you mind answering them?”
“No, of course I don’t.”
“Thanks, now what are these letters behind things like strength and charm?”
“Those are the stats of the monsters; my family decided to give each monster an estimation of their ability. SSS is the strongest, while F is the weakest. Oh, and if you are interested, a normal adult human falls between F and E. But of course there are exceptions to this.”
“Hm, ok, very well. Now how many monsters are in this book?”
“about 890 monsters, but on some monsters, a whole bunch of mutations of monsters are explained, so in total there are about 20000 different monsters.”
“And finally, what is your goal in showing me this?”
“Well, it’s pretty important information, and it could save many lives, so I wanted to sell this information to the Adventurers Guild.”
“Well, I could offer you one gold coin.”
“Sir, with all due respect, I would expect a little more than that. How about 4 gold coins?”
Johanna still didn’t know how much money she was just asking for, and if she knew, she would be ashamed to call it little.
Wu flinched a bit, but Johanna didn’t notice, so he continued.
“3 gold coins are my final offer. I can’t do more than that.”
“Ok, that’s fine. Thanks for accepting my deal.”
She handed him over the book and took the three gold coins in return.
“You can copy all the information; I will pick up the book again at a later time.”
She left the guild again and returned back to the brothel, where she chatted a bit with the other prostitutes and fell asleep quite fast after.
